Ana Rita Morais

 Ana Rita Morais is a second year master's student in the joint Communication & Culture program at York.  Beyond her personal interest in new media technologies and popular culture, her research interests also include that of sound technologies, interactivity in social communities and the rise and fall of the "public" sphere.  WIth and through her thesis, Rita hopes to uncover patterns and distinctions in what Raymond Williams coined as mobile privatisation, through new media entities such as that of the smartphone and the personal stereo device.
